Circle Jerks’ ‘Wild in the Streets’ 40th Anniversary Edition Gets a Modern Refresh
Two full decades after Circle Jerks released their iconic punk anthem, “Wild in the Streets” gets a star-studded reissue. The cast includes big names like Tony Hawk, Lance Mountain, Christian Hosoi, Dashawn Jordan, Kevin “Spanky” Long, and plenty others. Director Atiba Jefferson describes the release as “live VHS footage from 40 years ago mixed with new VHS clips of current skaters and legendary pros.”
He continues, “Adding to the effect, we had them skating boards and only doing tricks from 1982. This was my way of preserving 40 years of punk rock and skateboard history.”
The release of this seamlessly remastered music video gave Circle Jerks the once in a lifetime opportunity to get back on the road for the first time in 15 years. And wow, what a reintroduction!
