Anthony Bourdain Explores the Lower East Side in ‘Parts Unknown’

The final episode of Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown aired last night on CNN. Given Bourdain’s unfortunate suicide in June, it’s fitting that this saga ended where his ascension into the spotlight began. Anthony Bourdain was a native New Yorker, and his Kitchen Confidential book—which launched his television career—shines a spotlight on the restaurant industry in the city. The Lower East Side has a rich history, and skateboarding is a part of it. Bourdain pays homage to our segment of its culture in the Parts Unknown finale by including local skaters, including Spencer Fujimoto, in the episode. Watch the trailer above.
