Australian Teens Dominate X Games Women's Events

A thirteen-year-old Australian, Arisa Trew, won two gold medals in the 2023 X Games for her performance in vert and park events.

Trew earned a score of 90.33 in the Pacifico Women’s Skateboard Vert Saturday, securing her the top spot.

Ten-year-old Reese Nelson from Canada placed second with a best run score of 88. She was initially in the lead until Trew beat her score. She is now the youngest ever to win an X Games medal.

Japanese skateboarder, Asahi Kaihara landed in the third spot with a score of 83.66. Like the top two placers, she is also a young skater at just 16 years old.

In the Women’s Park event, Trew started with a strong lead and was able to improve her score in her last run, with the best run score of 91.

Twelve-year-old Mizuho Hasegawa came in second place with a score of 82.66.

Completing the podium for third place is Grace Marhoefer with 81.66 best run score.

In the Women’s Street Skateboarding event, 13-year-old Australian Chloe Covell clinched the top spot with her final run, scoring 90 points.

Liz Akama came in second place with the best score of 87.66.

Momiji Nishiya, who was in the lead for her first run performance, wasn’t able to improve her score in subsequent attempts. But her best score of 86.66 was enough to put her in third place.
