How Banksy Is Helping to Revitalize One of the UK’s Most Polluted Towns

Banksy Could Help Revitalize One Of The Most Polluted Cities In The U.K. (HBO)

Banksy’s latest effort could have real lasting social impact on Port Talbot. The small town in Wales is one of the UK’s most polluted areas. After getting a well-placed DM on Instagram, the Bristolian artist did a piece on the side of local steelworker Ian Lewis’s garage a few days before Christmas. Lewis then sold the artwork for upwards of £100,000 to John Brandler of Brandler Galleries, who owns several Banksy pieces. Brandler has agreed to keep “Season’s Greetings” in Port Talbot for two to three years with the hopes that it will attract other artists and art tourists with the aim of revitalizing the town. Have a look at Vice’s piece on the story above.
