Skateboarding and soccer have always had a bit of a symbiotic relationship. There’s something about the foot-eye coordination involved in both that connect the two actives. And many pros—Guy Mariano being the one that comes to mind—have credited soccer as being a key factor in developing their skateboarding. If you wonder why so many great skaters come out of Brazil, look no further than its national pastime.
