UPDATE: Jim Jones to Drop Album December + “State of the Union” Video

Published

on

We slept on Jim Jones’s El Capo for a week; but it’s likely the album of the summer. The Heatmakerz resurrect that classic Dipset sound; and Jones proves that lyrically, he’s still in his prime. If you’re a fan of the era when Jones had the world yelling “Baallin’,” and Cam’Ron was draped in pink fur coats, you’ll want to peep El Capo pronto. The first video for “My Era” dropped today. Check it out above, and stream the album below.

UPDATE 10.11.19: Jim Jones’s fourth quarter blitz continues with the release of the video for “State of the Union” featuring Rick Ross. We weren’t expecting Jimmy to drop the best album of 2019; but it happened. This has us wondering if this December follow-up will actually materialize, and will it knock just as hard as El Capo? Time will tell. For now, check the new video below.

UPDATE 10.10.19: Jim Jones sat down with The Breakfast Club this morning and announced that he’s about drop another album in December. If you’re not excited about that, you likely have questionable taste.

I’m about to lock in the studio for 30 days, and do a strong 10 records. I’m trying to release it the first or second week of December. If I don’t get everything together the way I want, I’ll definitely put out a record and a video… But I got some sizzle.

Watch the full interview above. The bit about the album starts at 19:05.

UPDATE 08.01.19: El Capo is still the album of the summer. Check out the video for Jim Jones’s  “Good Die Young” below, and ponder how severely underrated the Heatmakerz production is.
