In a bold and extremely colorful move, the Santa Cruz-based B Corp sock brand, MERGE4, has added legendary vert and pool skating pioneer Tony Alva to their crack team of collaborating artists, athletes, and musicians.
About the collab, MERGE4 says, “Tony Alva is an innovator, trendsetter, and is regarded to be one of the greatest stylists to ever set foot on a skateboard. Alva is credited with being the creator of modern vertical skating and is one of the most stylish skateboarders to pull a Frontside Air. MERGE4’s collaborations reflect the bold stylistic statements that fans have come to expect from the Alva brand including bright colors and eye-catching prints.”
The pairing shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. Last year, Alva was quoted as saying, “Style is everything – because if you are not making it look good when you are doing it then you are not doing it correctly.”
