New Yorker Wins Damn Am NYC

Nicholas Ramos of Bronx, New York wins the Damn Am NYC on September 10.

His win gets him a straight shot to the Tampa Am semi-finals which will be held on on November 13.

Ramos has been participating in Am contests for several years now. His other big wins include the Boardr Open NYC 2021 and 2022 where he finished first and second respectively.

Tyler Kirshenbaum of Jacksonville Beach, Florida came in at second place while Damn Am LA and Amsterdam winner Daiki Ikeda from Tokyo, Japan finished third in the competition. Cordano Russel won the SKNDL Best Trick contest.

Since Daiki Ikeda previously won two Damn Ams this year, he also has a straight shot to the Tampa Am Semi-Finals. The rest of the top 12 automatically qualify for the Tampa Am Saturday Qualifiers on November 12.

A global amateur skateboarding contest series, Damn Am NYC is the third of the Damn Am series for this year. It serves as a pathway to Tampa Am. Over 10,000 skaters, some of them now top pros, have participated in the event since its inception in 2001.

The year’s last stop for the Damn Am series will be on September 23-25 at the Murakami City Skatepark, Murakami, Japan. Damn Am Japan will have Men’s and Women’s disciplines. Registration is now open.

To qualify for Damn Am, a skater must meet any ONE of the following criteria:
