Rob Pace Named Slam SOTY 2022

ROB PACE – SLAM SOTY | 2022

When we say SOTY, most of us think Thrasher, but make no mistake – Australian skateboarding is not to be underestimated. Slam’s pick last year, Ben Lawrie, is one to watch, and previous winners Chima Ferguson and Jack O’Grady made global headlines.

This year, Rob Pace is the one who demands our attention. He pinged our radar in 2018 with an insane part for the magazine in question, and we’re just sorry we missed out on last year’s “Strider” part.

So when Slam named Rob as their pick for 2022, we sat up and paid notice. Here’s what they had to say about the wise selection:

ROB PACE – SLAM SKATER OF THE YEAR – 2022 ?

It’s official, [Rob Pace] is our new SOTY. Rob stepped up to the most ridiculous kinkers, Hubbas, ditches, and rail hops – dropping four incredible parts over the past year.

The release went on, “Thanks to everyone who cast their votes in the 2022 Slam Skater of the Year awards, presented by Converse ANZ. New Gen of the Year, Video Part of the Year and our Hall of Fame inductee will be announced next week. Congrats, Rob!”
