Earlier this week, the news broke that Kering S.A. has sold Volcom to Authentic Brands Group, the parent company of Airwalk, Vision Streetwear, Aéropostale, and more. ABG has taken a minority stake of Liberated Brands, a newly-formed company that will facilitate Volcom’s operations. Todd Hymel and Volcom’s current management team have taken the majority stake in the company. Outside of the change in ownership, nothing appears to be impacted by this new business arrangement.
