Cam’ron Talks ‘Purple Haze 2’ on Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning

Cam’ron Opens Up On Career, Beefs & Relationships During First Interview w/ Ebro in the Morning

With the sequel to arguably the best album in his discography set to drop on Friday, Cam’ron sat down for an hour-long interview with Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning  yesterday to discuss his upcoming project. It covers many of the twist and turns of his storied career with Dipset, and is a must-listen for any fan of the music. At the 0:55 mark, Cam breaks down why he’s releasing the follow-up to Purple Haze now. With Jim Jones dropping one of the best albums of 2019 last summer, you can’t help but be excited about Cam’s new release.

I was working with Universal. Not directly Universal, but some people that work over there. I wasn’t really realizing that this was the 15-year anniversary of Purple Haze 1. So I was gonna do some cross promotion with Purple Haze 1 and Purple Haze 2. But we couldn’t get it together as far as marketing and promotion. But I still decided to put the album out at the same time. Purple Haze 1 came out on December 7th 15 years ago. So I did Part 2 this year.

There’s also a sold out show this Friday in Brooklyn celebrating the occasion that will likely go down in history as a classic N.Y. night. Get there if you can.
