Nyjah Huston earned the judges’ nod at the Men’s World Street Skateboarding but second placer Aurelien Giraud seemed to have won the crowd and the netizens with his hard flip late flip final trick. Gustavo Ribeiro placed third in the competition.

The Women’s division was less controversial with Japanese skaters dominating the final round. Tokyo Summer Olympics Bronze Medalist Funa Nakayama took the top spot beating Tokyo Summer Olympics Gold Medalist Momiji Nishiya who landed second place. Yumeka Oda placed third.

The World Street Skateboarding Rome is the first of the events wherein skaters aspiring to make it to the Paris 2024 Olympics can collect ranking points for their Olympic World Skateboarding Ranking. The final standings will determine who will compete in Paris 2024.
