Last September, Mac Miller tragically passed away of an overdose at age 26. The Pittsburgh rapper had close ties with the Illegal Civ crew through various collaborations. Mikey Alfred pays homage to his fallen friend in IC3 with a montage of behind-the-scenes clips that give a candid look at the man behind the music. Clearly, he will be missed.
Alfred also just released Lil Wayne’s interview from his latest film. Weezy shares some key insights into the secret of his longevity.
It’s just focusing on the goal, [and] actually loving what you’re doing. If you love what you’re doing, you’ll never stop doing it. You can’t stop doing it, actually. People say, “I love what I’m doing.” But then, right after that, they make money; and you see them in the club way more than you see them in the studio. That’s cause you don’t love what you’re doing. You love what happened. Then, something else is going to happen. I’m not sure if you’re going to love that. But if you love what you’re doing the whole time, whatever happens doesn’t matter; because you still love what you’re doing. I’m going through a while bunch of shit right now. If what happened mattered, I probably would have jumped off a cliff. But I love what I’m doing; so I keep doing it.
