Rayssa Leal Makes Her Fairytale Dreams Come True
When she was 7, Rayssa Leal took the internet by storm with a kickflip in a little blue fairy costume. Today, the 14-year old superstar drops her new shoe colorway with Nike SB, proving that dreams really do come true.
The Rayssa Leal x Nike SB Verona Slip features a dappled Glacier Blue suede upper with cute cloud graphics throughout. As a nod to Rayssa’s background, the adorable fairy skateboarder image on the insole says “If you can dream it, you can make it happen” in English on one shoe and Portuguese on the other.
In a recent interview, Rayssa and Nike discussed her drive and what makes these particular shoes so special. Here’s a taste:
SB: What was the inspiration for your Verona color way?
RL: My life story. It is the first shoe with my signature, so it had to show where I came from and where it all began.
SB: Do you have a favorite part of the shoe and why?
RL: The insole because that phrase has a big meaning for me. I really believe that if you can dream, you can make it happen.
SB: How do you feel when you look back now at the clip that made you famous?
RL: It makes me really happy that it was my mom who filmed me, and even more that Tony H. shared it. Since that day, a lot has changed!
