Japanese skateboarder Yuto Horigome wins Tampa Pro 2023. This is the Tokyo Olympics gold medalist’s first Tampa Pro win.

Horigome started strong in the prelims and semis and eventually bested Giovanni Vianna and Chris Joslin who came in at second and third respectively in the finals.

Established in 1995 by the Skatepark of Tampa, Tampa Pro is one of the most prestigious skateboarding events.

Street League Skateboarding announced that it would have a new format for the series this 2023 featuring open rotating roster spots all season long, providing more ways to qualify.

Instead of the usual two-day event, the 2023 SLS will pack all the action in one day.

There will be knockout rounds for the men’s division, wherein five skaters in each heat will go head-to-head. The winners of each heat advance to the finals later in the evening, where they will face the defending SLS Champion.

The women’s competition will have a pre-seeded women’s finals featuring six of the world’s best women’s street skaters battling for the championship.

SLS also announced the other tour stops venues and dates. The Super Crown date and venue are still yet to be determined.

Stop 1: Chicago, IL – April 29
Stop 2: Tokyo, JP – August 12
Stop 3: Sydney, AUS – October 7
