Skate-Aid Builds a Skate Community in Syria
Watch the incredible transformation of a war-struck city that was introduced to skateboarding through the efforts of Skate-Aid and partners in this short film presented by Santa Cruz Skateboards.
Skate-Aid is a non-profit organization that uses skateboarding as a tool for empowerment and social change. The organization was founded in 2009 by the German professional skateboarder Titus Dittmann.
Skate-Aid aims to improve the lives of children and young people in disadvantaged communities around the world through skateboarding. They believe that skateboarding can provide a positive outlet for creativity, physical activity, and personal growth, particularly for those facing challenging circumstances such as poverty, conflict, or social exclusion.
The organization carries out various projects and initiatives in partnership with local communities, governments, and other organizations. They build and renovate skate parks, provide skateboarding equipment, offer skateboarding workshops and training programs, and organize events and competitions.

Tony Hawk and Rodney Mullen Team Up for ‘Darkslides & Secret Tapes’
Skateboarding legends will be on the stage together to discuss their lives and careers and how they inspired each other to innovate for “Darkslides & Secret Tapes” shows.
The shows are scheduled for April 4th at Beacon Theater, NYC, NY and April 7th at ACL Live at the Moody Theater, Austin, TX.

Hayley Wilson is Slam’s Skater of the Year
Slam Magazine named Hayley Wilson as the 2024 Skater of the Year. The Australian-based skateboard magazine started the annual awards in 2004, with Cale Nuske bagging the first-ever Slam SOTY.
