The Story Behind the UN Plaza Skate Park
San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department teamed up with Thrasher and Deluxe to design a skatepark at the UN Plaza.
The skate plaza’s design took inspiration from famous skate spots, including Afro Banks in Philadelphia, China Banks in San Francisco, and the Grotto.

Skateboarding legends will be on the stage together to discuss their lives and careers and how they inspired each other to innovate for “Darkslides & Secret Tapes” shows.
The shows are scheduled for April 4th at Beacon Theater, NYC, NY and April 7th at ACL Live at the Moody Theater, Austin, TX.
