The Diné Skate Garden Project was initiated by 4KINSHIP, a Diné (Navajo) owned sustainable art wear brand.

This remote community nestled in the Chuska Mountains between Shiprock and Gallup had no outdoor recreational facility before the skatepark was completed.

Through the project, the organizer hopes to bring the positive impact of skateboarding to indigenous youth in remote communities.

Among those who supported the project were Tony Hawk’s The Skate Park Project, Jewel’s Inspiring Children Foundation, Wonders Around the World, and individuals who contributed to the fundraising campaign.

While the skatepark is now open to the community, the Dine Skate Garden Project is not finished yet.

There are still plans to expand the space with a community garden practicing traditional agriculture and harvesting, which promotes food sovereignty and reintroduces ancestral crops in a healing gathering space for the community.

If you want to support the project, you can visit 4KINSHIP Diné Skate Garden Project – Pledge to donate.
