Virgil Abloh Calls Shiloh Greathouse Stevie Williams in MCA Exhibition

Virgil Abloh’s “Figures of Speech” opens on Monday at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago. It is the first exhibition dedicated to Abloh’s design work, which has been seen everywhere from Louie Vuitton to Nike in recent years. While it’s no secret that Abloh is a fan of skating, he reveals his lack of knowledge of the culture by labeling an image of Shiloh Greathouse’s iconic Big Brother Magazine Issue 1 cover with Stevie Williams’s name, and an accompanying bio. This case of “when keeping it real goes wrong” is a reminder of the importance of the role of a fact checker. Skateboarding is not amused.
