Watch the Independent Truck’s Rip Ride Rally Philadelphia Highlights
From Front St Skatepark, Muni, Nocturnal Skate Shop to FDR, skaters slugged it out in the city last September 9-10 for the Rip Ride Rally Philly.
The invitational cash for tricks event was presented by Independent Truck and Monster Energy.
Monster Team rider Jake Yanko reportedly hurt his neck during the first session of the 2nd day when he crashed his head against Fred Gall’s knee. Yanko took a step back from the succeeding sessions but came back for the finale event and shut down the Killer Pillar.
The next day he learned that he actually broke his C7 vertebrae wing. Thankfully, it doesn’t require surgery but he has to wear a neck brace for three months and undergo physical therapy after.
