IOC Launches ‘Let’s Move Street Challenge’
In partnership with Samsung, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has launched a unique online competition called the Let’s Move Street Challenge. The competition is open to BMX, Breaking and Skateboarding enthusiasts over the age of 13.
Participants are required to showcase their best sporting moves and creative talent in a 30-second video entry on Olympics.com.
The entries will be judged by a panel of experts and influential faces from across the three sports. In addition, sports fans can vote for their “fan favorite” videos.
The winners will receive a special, behind-the-scenes trip to an Olympic Games qualification event for these sports.
The Let’s Move Street Challenge aims to inspire and enable young people to embrace the joy of movement and a more active lifestyle by practising urban sports.
The competition is open for submissions from 23rd September 00:00 CEST to 21st October 24:00 CEST. For more details about the competition, visit Olympics.com.
The Let’s Move Street Challenge winners will be crowned in November during a streamed show celebrating the sports, their communities and culture, their athletes and the Let’s Move Street Challenge competitors.
This initiative builds on the IOC’s Let’s Move campaign, which was launched on Olympic Day 2023 in response to the World Health Organization’s findings that one in four adults and over 80% of young people don’t meet the recommended minimum activity levels needed for optimum health.
