100 Nashville Kids Got their First Ever Skateboards

Published

on

Over a hundred Nashville kids had the time of their lives on Skateshop Day last February 19. They received skateboards and skateboarding gear and got a chance to meet pro skaters like Tiago Lemos, Jaime Reyes, and more!

Thanks to the non-profit Super Skate Posse and the Sixth Avenue Skateshop and Skatepark who organized the event. They also got tremendous support from Rocket Town Youth Outreach Facility and brands such as Russell Athletic, New Balance, DLXSF, Pro-Tec, and GRIP6 Belts.

Here’s what Nathaniel Covington of Sixth Avenue Skatepark has to say about their program:

A lot of these kids are in their teenage years. They need a place with some kind of attraction. Where pros Tiago come and Kenny Hughes come and all these guys come to skate and do demos. And that hobby, or for us way of life, will open up their ears and open up their hearts.
