Alexis Sablone Donates to NAACP Via Latest Converse Shoe

Converse introduces Alexis Sablone’s 2020 One Star Pro with a new edit from Waylon Bone captured in New York. When this project was conceived, Alexis imagined herself debuting the shoe at the Tokyo Games next month. The world has completely changed since then. Adapting to the times, Sablone will be donating a portion of the proceeds to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund as a part of Converse’s four-year commitment to support Black communities. Read Alexis’s statement about this decision below.

This project was conceived of months ago, but with all of the changes we’ve been experiencing, it feels like a lifetime. I originally thought I might be wearing these in Tokyo next month—I looked forward to that as a potentially life-changing moment for me. But today, as people from coast to coast stand up together for equality, to end racism and make this country a better place, it feels like a life changing moment for us all.
