Aurélien Giraud and Rayssa Leal Win World Championships Sharjah-Street

French skateboarder Aurélien Giraud won the Men’s Street World Championships in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, earning a total of 269.33 points.

This win increases his chances to qualify for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France. He previously placed second in World Street Rome, also a qualifying event for the 2024 Olympics.

He ranked 6th in the Tokyo Olympics.

Portugal’s Gustavo Ribeiro finished closed second with a score of 267.38 while 12-year-old Ginwoo Onodera from Japan landed in third place. Just the day before, the Japanese prodigy topped the semi-finals.

Rayssa Leal topped the Women’s street with a score of 255.58. Coming in at second place is 12-year-old Australian skater Chloe Covell. Momiji Nishiya finished third in the competition.

In the Tokyo Olympics, Nishiya bagged the gold and Leal earned the silver medal for women’s street skateboarding.
