HUF’s Collab With Cult Nods to New York’s Golden Era
Without knowing it, you are already familiar with Robbie Morales from his section in Zoo York’s Mixtape. If you thought: “this kid is nice on a bike” when you witnessed him ride back in 1998, you’ll be happy to know that he went on to found CULT. Morales’s shared history with Keith Hufnagel makes this collaboration between the two OG New Yorkers’ brands feel completely organic. And given how much BMX culture is exploding in the city right now—kids mobbing 40-deep and popping wheelies for blocks is a common sight during the warmer months—this is right on time.

How 35th North Skate Shop Came to Be
Seeing all the other shops back then were focused on snowboards, Tony Croghan saw the opportunity to establish a shop dedicated to skateboards. He used earnings from a hotel job to start 35th North Skate Shop in Seattle.
After twenty years, 35th North has become a prominent part of the Seattle community, hosting events, art shows, premieres, and karaoke nights.
Pro skaters Matt Gottwig and Kristin Ebeling shared more stories about how the shop became an integral part of the local skate scene in this episode of “Established“.
