Jimmy Wilkins Lands His 5th Straight Win for X Games Skateboard Vert
Jimmy Wilkins again won the Men’s Skateboard Vert Competition in the 2022 Summer X Games. This is now his 5th straight win for the X Games Vert Category making him the record holder for having the most consecutive gold medal.
Brazilian skateboarder Guy Khuri finished second in this category and also placed second in the Vert Best Trick category.
Mitchie Brusco came in at the third spot. He previously won gold for the Best Trick in X Games Chiba 2022 and the X Games Minneapolis 2018 Big Air Finals.
2022 Summer X Games Debuts First-ever Mega Park Discipline
Edouard Damestoy of France won the first-ever skate Mega Park discipline which debuted in this year’s Summer X Games. This is his first X Games gold. He previously won the 2021 Tony Hawk’s Vert Alert and World Skate Vert Championship.
Coming in 2nd place is Elliot Sloan who owns the SloanYard Facility where the Mega Park competition took place. Italo Penarrubia from Brazil landed in the third spot.
Elliot may not have won the gold in the Mega Park but he took the top spot for the Skateboard Vert Best Trick. This is his 6th X Games gold medal overall.


More X Games Skate Events this Weekend
Summer X Games is not over yet. The Women’s Skateboard Park, Men’s Skateboard Street, and Skateboard Street Best Trick will be held this Saturday, July 23 at the CATF in Vista CA. Women Skateboard Street and Men’s Skateboard Park will be on Sunday at the same venue. Go to this page for the full schedule.
Aside from skateboard events, X Games also features Moto X and BMX competitions.
The events are not open to the public but you can watch the full coverage live via ESPN+ in the United States. Recaps will be available on X Games YouTube Channel 24 hours after the live broadcast. Check out the details here.

Red Bull Boarding Pass Next Stop: Georgia
Invited regional shop teams and crews will battle it out on March 11 in a squad versus squad event. The winning team will be earning an all-expense-paid trip to the Red Bull Terminal Takeover in New Orleans.
The event happening in Newnan Skatepark, Newnan, GA is just one of the pre-qualifying events for the Red Bull Terminal Take Over.
The Texas leg was held last February 25 at the Southside Skatepark, South Houston, TX.
The Terminal Take Over is an annual event sponsored by Red Bull that transforms the Old MSY Airport in New Orleans into a massive skatepark where invited top skaters and skate shop crews come together for the ultimate skate jam.

Yuto Horigome Wins Tampa Pro 2023
Japanese skateboarder Yuto Horigome wins Tampa Pro 2023. This is the Tokyo Olympics gold medalist’s first Tampa Pro win.
Horigome started strong in the prelims and semis and eventually bested Giovanni Vianna and Chris Joslin who came in at second and third respectively in the finals.
Established in 1995 by the Skatepark of Tampa, Tampa Pro is one of the most prestigious skateboarding events.
