Registration Open for Skatepark of Tampa’s School’s Out Jam

Get a chance to show off your skills at the annual School’s Out Jam this coming 4th of June at the Skatepark of Tampa.

Who knows if you can be a skateboarding pro like Jamie Foy, Zion Wright, Tyson Peterson, Jereme Knibbs, Clive Dixon, Pedro Delfino, and Fabiana Delfino who all started out skating in this very same event.

Red Bull Solus Digital Qualifiers Now Open

Get a chance to qualify for the Red Bull Solus Finals to be held on June 6-8 at the Sandlot Shecklers Training Facility where you get an hour to film your best line.

One male and one female will get an all-expenses-paid trip to the finals on June 6-8 to compete with the invited pros.

Here’s how to join the qualifiers which will run from May 6 through 23.

  • Film your best run at the street park of your choice
  • Run must be one continuous, unedited line and 60 seconds or less
  • Please don’t add music and keep any logos to a minimum
  • Must be filmed on or after May 6, 2022
  • Post your run to Instagram using the #RedBullSolus hashtag
  • Submit your run on the Red Bull website (you must do this or your entry will not be judged)

You must be 18 years of age or older to enter. Your trip must be coming from the continental US if you win.

Skating Across Borders Mini Ramp Jam Registration Now Open

This year’s Skating Across Borders charity event will be held on May 21st from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm at the Green Bench Brewing, St. Petersburg, Fl.

Presented by the Stoefs Studio in cooperation with the Skatepark of Tampa, the fundraiser features a mini ramp jam as well as live band performances.

Register at skateparkoftampa.com to join the mini ramp jam.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Board for Bros, a non-profit dedicated to providing skateboarding equipment, safe skate spots, and youth mentoring in their community.

Board for Bros will also have a tent during the event where they will be accepting old boards and skateboard parts that will be refurbished and given to kids who can’t afford their own.

The Boardr Drops Grind for Life Series New Smyrna Stop Highlights

Skaters young and old had a great weekend last 23rd of April in the New Smyrna stop of the Grind for Life Series 2022.

Jake Yanko from Melbourne, Florida earned the top spot for both the Street and Bowl Men’s Advanced competition.

Harlow Johnsey landed first place in the Bowl Women’s category while Shiloh Catori won the Street Women’s competition.

Anthony Ferraro won the Street Men’s Adaptive Disabled Advanced beating Dan Mancina who came out second. Justin Bishop got first place in the Bowl Men’s Adaptive Disabled Advanced.

GFL Series is a national, all ages and skills skateboarding contest series organized by The Boardr.

Part of the proceeds from the series benefits the Grind for Life Organization, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that assists cancer patients with travel expenses.
