Following announcements from the NBA, MLB, and MLS, SLS has cancelled the 2020 Las Vegas and Beijing stops due to the coronavirus global pandemic. While the World Championship is still currently on the table for May in London; we’re going to go out on a limb and say it will likely be cancelled along with skateboarding’s debut in the 2020 Tokyo Games. Things are definitely getting real out there. We’re bracing for what’s to come.
UPDATE 03.27.20: SLS released the above statement this afternoon postponing this year’s London World Championship indefinitely due to the coronavirus. This is obviously the best decision that could have been made under the current circumstances as the entire world of sports will likely be sitting out 2020.
