Following up on last year’s live stage performance, Spike Jonze and the Beastie Boys are dropping a photo book via Rizzoli on March 17. This 256 page hardcover release chronicles a defining time in the trio’s saga as seen through Jonze’s lens starting from when these cultural icons met in Los Angeles in 1993. Rather than recapping the well-known band imagery captured by the “Sabotage” director, Beastie Boys focuses on candid, behind-the-scene shots that tell their story from a more personal perspective. The book will retail for $55, and is clearly a must-have for collectors and fans.
UPDATE 03.12.20: This morning, Apple TV released the extended trailer for the Spike Jonze-produced Beastie Boys Story documentary that will coincide with the book. Check the trailer above. The film will be in Imax theaters on April 2, and on Apple TV+ on April 24.
