Vince Staples Uses Google Maps to Create Clever Video for “FUN!”

Vince Staples‘s FM dropped today. The first video from the album for the track “FUN!” features one of the more creative uses of Google Maps that we’ve seen. We’re looking forward to someone applying the concept to a skate video at some point in the future, which isn’t a stretch given Staples connection with Na-Kel Smith and the crew formerly known as Odd Future. Our music department is still digging into Staple’s fifth studio album. So far, it’s delivering. You can read a full review via Pitchfork, which scores it an 8.2, and stream it for yourself below. Tony Hawk and More at When We Were Young Fest

Punk rock and skateboarding collide at When We Were Young Fest held last month! Tony Hawk, Bucky Lasek, Jason Ellis, Jimmy Wilkins and more showed up to skate and mosh.

The two-day event featured performances by top artists of the 2000s, including Avril Lavigne, the singer of Sk8er Boi.

Tony Hawk also had a surprise performance on the stage with the Gold Finger.

Leandre “Skategoat” Sanders traveled from California to Florida to experience the sights, sounds, and skating of @Spotify’s #SkateNoise event in Miami.

Based around a Spotify playlist curated for skateboarding that represents the sounds of skating in Miami, the event drew a crowd of locals, Pros, and music fans under the bridge at Lot 11 for free food, skating with pros, and live musical performances by the Jacuzzi Boys.
