How To Get Sponsored as a Skateboarder

Published

on

Santa Cruz Brand Manager Andrew Cannon breaks down the path to sponsorship for Santa Cruz Skateboards in this video.

Cannon said one of the ways to get sponsored is by joining skateboarding contests such as Damn Am, Tampa Am and local contests. Jake Wooten and Fabiana Delfino got sponsored this way.

Another way is by sending a “sponsor me tape”. Maurio McCoy got sponsored through his videos.

SC Team Manager Eric Palozzolo said that he looks for a really good style and great trick selection in the sponsor me videos. He also mentioned that since they are looking to make impactful street skating videos, those who kill it in the street get higher chances to get into the van.

Video Manager Joe Perrin also gave some tips in editing a sponsor me video.

If you think you have what it takes to get into Santa Cruz’s van, submit your sponsor me video here.
