Jagger Eaton, Sky Brown Win Park World Championships

Jagger Eaton and Sky Brown emerged as champions for the Park World Championships held in Sharjah, UAE on Sunday, February 12.

They are now a step closer to qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Jagger Eaton is the first to win both street and park world titles. He was the 2021 SLS Super Crown Champion. He also won the bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics men’s street competition.

Last week, he also participated in the Street World Championships where he placed 6th.

Eaton bested Brazilian skateboarders Augusto Akio and Tokyo Olympics park silver medalist Pedro Barros who finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Meanwhile, the three medalists of the Tokyo Olympics swept the podium for the Women’s Park World Championships, this time in reverse order.

Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist Sky Brown placed first in the event after putting down a sensational second run at Sharjah’s Aljada Skate Park – featuring a Kickflip Indy and ending with a frontside 540 – for a score of 89.63 and then surpassing that again in her third run earning a score of 90.83.

Tokyo Olympics silver medalist Cocona Hiraki held the lead with a score of 86.66  before Brown’s second run but she had an early fall in her final run. She finished 2nd in the event.

The first Olympic gold medalist for park skateboarding Sakura Yosozumi’s first two runs didn’t go well. But she recovered in the third run, enough to land her third place in the event.

The trio also dominated the 2022 Summer X Games Women’s Skateboard Park held in July last year.
