UPDATE: Austin Bristow Drops a Proper London Mixtape

Published

on

Austin Bristow’s Portions is to London what The Hardbody Video is to New York—an unexpected underground banger filled with heavy hitters. Building on an aesthetic established through the Birdman Jr. series, Bristow weaves together a standout 20-minute mixtape, featuring: Kyle Wilson, Danny Brady, Benny Fairfax, Chico Brenes, Chewy Cannon, Kyron Davis, Tom Knox, Ben Raemers, Tom Penny, Heitor Da Silva, Louie Jones, Lucien Clarke, Rory Milanes, Charlie Birch, and many more. This is another one that will be on repeat all weekend.

UPDATE 03.08.21: Slam follows up what will likely be one of the most talked about edits of 2021 with an interview with its creator. Mad respect to Bristow for going the indie route with this, and keeping skateboarding’s D.I.Y. spirit alive.

How come you decided to put it out on your YouTube channel? It seems like parts could have easily a become a Palace production

I didn’t want any logos or branding on it so I decided to release it on my YouTube. At least that way there is no Krux advert beforehand…

What was your thought process behind putting together that style of edit?

At first Lev Tanju was going to edit something with all the footage but it started to drag on a little so I just gave it a go and I hope people enjoyed it? It felt like I was just putting together footage a little and didn’t really have a feel to it but I hope people like it and now we can move onto bigger and better things.
